Amid
an endless and colorful array of beads, textures, sequins and feathers, her
mother was a costume designer, her grandmother a milliner.
This bustling scene was the creative backdrop of her first twenty years
in Houston, Texas, where it became clear that creative imagination, expressed
through fashion and design, was firmly embedded in the gene pool and had been
proudly and inevitably passed to Carole Lubritz.
With ever-expanding vision, Carole packed up her natural talent and her designs.
When she landed in New Orleans, Louisiana, she began her work in earnest, designing hats, for which she won the prestigious Alpha Award in Fashion Design
in 1988. Carole moved her home and
her successful business in 1989 to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she continues to
design hats, wedding veils and one-of-a-kind wearable articles. Custom designing unique pieces of fashion art is her passion, and
artistic-minded individuals agree. Responding
to Carole’s belief that our differences need to be celebrated in fashion,
her designs express her customers’ desire to be unique.
Carole draws her inspiration from nature and the world around her, traveling
frequently to Paris to observe and absorb current fashion trends and always
returns, refreshed and invigorated to the stillness of her studio. This is where she centers herself and dares to put it all together,
creating tangible treasures from the intangible desires and specific requests of
her customers—always adding a delicious twist to make it her own.
